PUR exhibits a pressure-bearing capacity 6 to 7 times higher than that of ordinary rubber, coupled with its excellent elasticity and mechanical strength. In sheet metal forming, it can be widely used as an elastic element and cushion for ejection and unloading. Currently, as a component of PUR unloading springs, it has been serialized with stamping machinery and has gradually developed into a standardized series of products. Their basic shape is shown in the figure. When in use, they undergo deformation under external force. The amount of pressure they can withstand is related to the rubber hardness and product size. Taking the commonly used PUR hollow cylindrical spring pad in Europe as an example, its pressure-bearing capacity and deformation data are listed.
