The GBD type xipuli piston rod seal is the most perfect development outcome of lip seals. It features two sealing lips and a retaining ring with strong extreme pressure resistance. Due to the effect of the two sealing lips, additional lubrication is maintained in the sealing gap, greatly preventing dry friction and wear, thereby extending the service life of the seal. Under certain conditions, satisfactory sealing performance can only be achieved through the use of two sealing elements, one positioned before and one positioned after, installed in their respective grooves. However, these two-lip seals can replace expensive tandem devices.
